i started working on a marimba recently at mcdowell tech with Mike Sprinkle instructing. i used http://www.lafavre.us/marimba-bars.htm as well as many other resources to get started, and ended up with these cut from mahogany stock that had been glued together. i ripped them apart at the glue joints and started working them into rough bar shapes.


below, you can see i have most of the bars rough tuned..


i finally got all the bars rough tuned, and laid them out to take some measurements to get ready to fabricate a stand for them.
